Mirrored Territories: Who actually thought this was a good idea?

I'm currently in a 'mirrored' territory at GSK and it's absolute chaos.

I have another rep covering the exact same zip codes, seeing the exact same docs, and we're basically tripping over each other in the waiting rooms.

The docs are getting annoyed because they're getting the same pitch twice in one week, and it makes us look like we don't talk to each other.

Management says it's about 'maximizing share of voice,' but all it's doing is maximizing my frustration.

Half the time, the other rep has already dropped off samples, so I'm just standing there looking like an idiot.

And don't even get me started on how the IC is split.

It feels like we're competing for the same credit instead of working together.

Anyone else dealing with this mirrored territory nonsense? How do you coordinate with your 'mirror' without losing your mind? Or is this just a sign that the company has too many reps and not enough actual strategy?.
